What's Mine Is Mine Poem by Mustafa Marconi

What's Mine Is Mine

Asked her for it nicely
Tried to coax it out of her
Seduce her if you would say
But she wouldn't give in
She said no means no
And she meant no
Pleaded to her conscience
But she wouldn't budge
Wouldn't give an inch
Frustrated and flustered
I took it
Ripped it off her
One piece at a time
What's mine is mine
And I'll be dammed if I'll have it
Any other way
She asked me to leave
Said I violated her
Couldn't understand my inner rage
Or my feelings of frustration
Pleaded to her conscience
But she still wouldn't budge
Wouldn't give an inch
So I took it
Ripped it off her
One piece at a time
What's mine is mine
And I'll be dammed if I'll have it
Any other way
The neighbors heard her screaming
Decided they wanted to help
Tried to coax me out of the house
Seduce me if you would say
But I wouldn't give in
I said no means no
Pleaded to me
But I wouldn't budge
Wouldn't give an inch
Police arrive shortly after
They said come with me
Mr. soon to be arrested
Madam did he hit you?
Did he threaten you?
Did he attempt to intimidate you?
Undeterred they tried to push me
Tried to castrate me
In front of my kids
But I still wouldn't budge
Wouldn't give an inch
Couldn't understand my inner peace
Or my feelings of supreme confidence
Frustrated and flustered
They tried to take it from me
Rip it off me
One piece at a time
Just as she had tried for so many years
But what's mine is mine
You see it doesn't matter
If it's the police, society
My neighbors or my wife
You can't take away my manhood
And you can't take away my dignity
And I'll be dammed
If I'll have it any other way
