What You Really Want Poem by Lilla Hauser

What You Really Want

You feel as if you're not good enough,
Spending countless nights crying yourself to sleep
They say you want attention when really that's the last thing on your mind
What you really want is to be able to look at your arms and have no tally marks
Be able to walk beside somebody not behind them
Have sun and rainbows instead of rain and thunder
Be a full moon instead of being half in the shadows
Just to feel that you're good enough for this world
