Whatever Happened - Poem by joseph freeman

Whatever happened to the good old days
When christians had godly ways
When they really cared about those in need
Exhibiting godliness with godly deed
Their lives were filled with service & prayer
When a believer needed them they were there
They hungered & thirsted after righteousness
& lived a life that God could bless
Now their lives filled with love of self
All week long God's on a shelf
Dressed to kill they straddle a pew
Their christian duty on Sunday to do
Then live like hell the rest of the week
Promoting self their own interests they seek
Whatever happened to living right?
Whatever happened to walking in the light?

People have gotten to where if things dont happen here and now on demand they tend to do things their own ways...Just like the Hebrew children that Moses led out of Egypt..Oh they followed and worshipped God for their rescue but when God didnt lead them to the promie land when they wanted they decided to do what they wanted and then died in their sins..How sad so many so called children of god is like that today.....How this must sadden our Father in Heaven......If we just wait on Him then He will give us our hearts desires.........Awesome poem my friend.
love to you and your wife forever
