When He Scored The Goal Poem by Abhineet Sharma

When He Scored The Goal

'over there' was the call,
and finally he was spotted free,
to him he passed the ball,
at last begun the spree...

last minutes of the game,
and muscles totally loosened out,
but he saw the fame,
and the support from the crowd...

when he embraced the airborne ball,
Oh! it was a beautiful hug,
and it kissed his feet then,
when on ground, he placed his love...

he started the glorious run,
and rolled the ball,
two defenders stood ahead,
and there was no support...

dribbles the first,
and he counts one,
and passes off the second,
and then, there were none...

heart beat goes up,
with each of his step,
but, he moves on and makes the run,
with the glory waiting in the net...

roar of the crowd gets louder,
so does mental stress,
there stands goalie,
between him and the net...

the goalie dives at him,
over him, he chips the ball,
crowd breaks up in celebration,
when he scores the goal! ! ! ...

it was his skill with the ball,
but his passion did it all,
he went alone into the net,
when he scored the goal! ! ! ...
