When I Die. Poem by Emily Reid

When I Die.

When I die
I hope you'll be the first to know
And that you were the only reason
I didn't want to go

When I die
I want you to pray for me
And ask God to forgive me
Then go and live the rest of your life happily

When I die
I want you to look at rivers, oceans and seas
I want you to remember my tear drops
And that no one cared and cried for you more that me

When I die
Go to the beach and walk on the sand
Remember the days
When we walked hand in hand

When I die
Remember that every blow of the wind means I love you
That I care for you, that I miss you
And that I'll be there no matter what you do

My eyes are so red now, yet so blue
I'm so scared, I won't lie
Remember that once I was beside you
And do please remember me once in a while
When I die…
