When I Last Saw You Poem by Hesbon Nyamweya

When I Last Saw You

Jovial with vigor on the set of your journey.....
So i bid you God's speed and didn't worry......
Not knowing you're trading your life on the grave road of Salga.....
A fatal spot linked with many death miasma.....
I never forsee you diving in a blood drive....
To a demise destination so dreary to survive.

If it dawned on me you wont pass the dreaded place......
And your happiness was a farewel of death on your face.....
I could have pleaded with God to provide a safer way....
Or hold you in my arms so you proceed the next day....
I did't know you'll soon knock the heaven's gate.....
Coz when i last saw you i could have prayed to alter this fate.

I hear they are heading there to put a warning sign.......
The spot that smell your last breath and blood-mine.......
Why not before this compilation sent you past life line.....
Leaving only broken mirrors of your last memories......
As thousand times we fainted on your scattered lifeless bodies.....
Something unfathomable when i last saw you.

Fare thee well with angels my dear.....
Lets your journey continue in heaven without fear....
And your demise raise their sleeping eyebrows.....
So they can improve the system to avoid more sorrows.....
You'll always remain alive in our bleeding hears.....
So RIP and continue smilling like when i last saw you.END
