When I Pray - Poem by Wilma Darlene McDonald

My precious savior Jesus,
Look down on me today,
Open up your heart and
Hear me when I pray.
I'm scared and sick
And so alone.
No one to ease the pain.
Help me Lord Jesus,
To gain my strength again.

My family and so-called friends
All have gone their way,
They never even notice
When I kneel and pray.
Oh! Lord just hear and listen,
Then guide me on my way.
Help me God, for I am scared.
