When I Wake (A Monchielle) - Poem by Pamela A Lamppa

When I awake to you
with sunlight whirling by
all time stands still with me
gazing upon your face
to see that heart shall be.

When I awake to you
first breath of day becomes
the air that I will take
upon the sands of time
to breathe the love we make.

When I awake to you
with warm and tender smile
there's nothing can compare
in dreams or in desire
this passion that we share.

When I awake to you
begin the new day fresh
memories pass and then,
rejoicing with new birth
my life begins again.
