When I Was Five I Was Ten Poem by Robert LaCas

When I Was Five I Was Ten

Is this the way
That life begins

Never knew
what was normal
Making it to another day
Seemed abnormal

Running in the rain
Feeling a lot of pain
Trying to find a place
To rest my head and say grace

Making it to twenty
Was nothing but a dream
With so much hurt
Did not have much self esteem

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My troubled paths.
