When I Was Young Poem by Ashish Sharma

When I Was Young

When I was young
I thought, i will earn money
When I become big
I will enjoy
Then what I see is what I get
And now I am a drover
I am a labour
feeding stover
I think now the moon is over.

When I was young
I thought, the world is beautiful
There is only good, no bad
I never thought that something bad existed.
The world is pure as I am
But it was in the books, movies.
There are no super heroes in real life.
And now I am a drover
I am a labour
feeding stover
I think now the moon is over.

When I was young
I used to be a leader.
I was a reader.
Now, every body is a mind reader.
They are smart.
They keep calorie chart.
They don't have heart.
They are commercial art.
And so I feel, I am a drover
I am a labour
feeding Stover
I think now the moon is over.

When I was young
I thought the world is changing.
Minds are changing.
But now i know
The world is same.
There has been no change.
Everywhere is a boundary.
Boundary of a nation.
Boundary of a region.
Boundary of a religion.
People fight, bring plight.
What are fundamental rights.
And we have a hope that
All will be right
Only when we unite.
