When It Dawns On Me That It Is Over Poem by Chinonso Iroegbu

When It Dawns On Me That It Is Over

Snares of slumber
Night of doom
Hunger abounds
Wait not the last omen of ant's infestation
Nor sit and watch the thundering in the
Debris of inferno between famished souls
I come with swollen eyes, heavy heart,
Miserable, dispirited and devastated
That my own fate has entwined in a gyre
While I lay on the pyre in oblivion.
