When My Father Died Poem by Alexander Foald

When My Father Died

Only one thing before my eyes shut
The one that thrusts me in my heart
It’s your breathing that stops at this time
My dream goes along with the light

I can’t get enough capacity
To hold this tears and shakes
Afraid of losing you for eternity
Never gets me back on my feet

I trusted you so much
The pain never gets away
So why don’t you come back
And just make my day?

And it’s been long time for you and me
There were happenings that turn you around
And looking at me through the eyes of yours
Like myself was a shattered piece of glass

Only one thing before my eyes shut
The only thing that can keep me standing here
If only I can draw back memories back there
Would you still love me like your child?
