When The Trumpet Sounds That Day - Poem by Gloria Davis Walker

When the trumpet sounds that day
Then we, the church, shall rise --
Our hearts stop as we see His face,
For then we're seeing God!
The brightness of His Holy Face,
When we behold the Perfect lamb,
Beams light around us as we praise,
For then we'll see the Great I AM!
When the trumpet sounds that day
All heaven and angels are revealed
To those who know Jesus as Lord,
And in their souls, His spirit sealed!
For when the trumpet sounds that day,
At last, our all to Him we'll yield,
The glory of His wondrous love
Will then in splendor be revealed!
Scripture reference: 1 Thessalonians 4" 14-18
