When Things Don'T Work Out Poem by Emma Beverage

When things don't work out
like you wanted them to,
it leaves one very confused.
We must mull over all of the why's
and can't help but wonder if it was simply lies.
This is one of the questions
that came to my mind,
was this just a game,
were you being unkind?
Was it an innocent misstep
that left me with the ocean I wept?
I still have the questions, unanswered,
after all of these years,
my love just a wasteland
to collect all my tears.
Now I have gone
and done it again
off the top of my head
a poem I have penned!
