When We Depart The World Poem by kubra poet

When We Depart The World

So lately, I'm been wondering
Who will watch over me when the night is long?
Who will hold me through the silence?
Now that your side of the bed feels so wrong

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you are
I still feel you in the quiet
Like you're never really far

And maybe, I'll find peace someday
But right now, the world feels gray
Because every road I try to take
Still leads me back to yesterday

So lately, I've been dreaming
Of the way your laughter filled the room
Now the echoes keep on calling
And I chase them through the gloom

If I could, then I would
I'd follow you into the light
But something keeps me grounded
In the love that still feels right

And maybe, I'll smile again someday
But the heart doesn't work that way
Because every breath still whispers your name
And I wouldn't have it any other way

I know the world says I should heal
Find someone new, learn how to feel
But how do you replace a soul
That made my broken pieces whole?

They say time will make it fade
But some loves don't ever fade away
You're the air I breathe, the prayer I pray
I'll meet you there... someday
