When We Met Poem by Chibueze Oscar Osuji

When We Met

They said, when we met, we were like water
Two elements, we became one compound
Full of space for each other we matter
Lips mute, we heard our hearts make a sound

They said, when we met, we were like fountain
Rushing together with love around us
The wind blew, we held the ground as mountain
The wind could not rock us out with its force

They said, when we met, we were like children
We fought and settled in one love and peace
Our love sang out loud as lark and wren
Our love sang melodious song in bliss

They said, when we met, we were like sunset
We shone for a while then, we were put-off
Yes, they said alot of things when we met
I'll say, when we met, we were not in love.
