When We See The Young As We Once Were Poem by Shalom Freedman

When We See The Young As We Once Were

When we see the young as we once were
When we know the pain and poignance
Of our never being able to be young again,
The only way of escape perhaps
Is to look at our children and grandchildren
And dream Youth will be for them
Happier and longer than it was for us
