when we were boys
i told you we were sane
but that the madness was coming
now we are men and madness is all around
i have not seen you for many years
we are each surrounded by our own private
sound and light shows
sometimes it can be forgotten that
we arose in the same still lake
and are being swept along furious rivers
towards the same sea
vast
grey
stretching out
past the horizon
to infinity
