When Will You Yield? Poem by sodiq yusuf

When Will You Yield?

Rating: 5.0

When I could not uttter emotions
To your ever listening ears,
I saw in my brow forced perspiration.
For your love has turned me a beggar
So that I never may be able to discover.

Imprisoned my heart, I could hardly know
When you'd yield to this endless plea of mine.
Please! My mouth is behaving sickly;
Saliva of slavery drops from it.

I'm running out of reasoning
Just for a price so much the worth

Well, the ball is in your court
If to love would mean to be mad
Then this game of elusiveness is beyond my muscle.

I'm aging- my zeal is wearing out
This trivial denial from your act is making me wild.

Now, I'd ask (may be for the last chance) :
Does your heart in earnest
Justify this sheer display of coyness?

Look, this won't help our fate
For both of us
On a day, unfixed
Could be called to rest.
