When Wisdom Goes Silent Poem by Rue Palmer

When Wisdom Goes Silent

When Wisdom Goes Silent

When wisdom goes silent, the night grows long,
No hush of truth, no guiding song.
The stars look down with distant grace,
Yet none reflect the human face.

The books lie closed with secrets tight,
Their pages mute, no flame, no light.
Old voices fade into the wind,
Their echoes lost where time has thinned.

The ant sleep beneath the stone,
And every seeker walks alone.
Questions bloom like desert flowers,
Unanswered through the quiet hours.

A hush that humbles every creed,
A stillness deeper than our need.
Yet in that void, a seed may grow—
The kind that only silence sows.
