When You Are Gone Poem by Oscar Gutierrez

When You Are Gone

When you are gone
I cant hear the birds sing
Time stands still and the days wont end
When you are gone
Water wont quench my thirst
For I only thirst for your lips
When you are gone
Bread wont satisfy my hunger
For I only hunger for your touch
So I walk starving through the street looking for you
Its all in vain for you are never there
When you are gone
The night is darker
And the stars don’t shine the same
My life has become a vast emptiness
Since you have been gone
