When You Grow As A Seed! - Poem by Ajay Seshadri
Your first breath refreshes you in the morning of birth
In the event of love smile takes shape to give you a form
Your shape adored by curious hands in the warmth to feel you
To feel you for what you may wonder but you like the touch.
There is soul in it for you to want it; a sensation of acceptance
In that sensation you grow as a seed wanting too much of it;
The touch withdraws gradually like the wind leaving behind you
A cradle of growth till your growth throws you out of the cradle
A growth to feel till your growth throws you out of the feeling.
The words that greeted tenderly depart as your words fill the soil
They fill the soil with wants that are no more yours but made you believe they are!
That linger when you grow as a seed wanting the new in a soil
That is set to decay in the foliage that keeps it from growing.
When you grow as a seed you see the rest like you wanting to fill
The soil with their wants till the soil hits a road block but the seeds?
They have a long way to grow but no way to go
When you grow as a seed you begin to know
The limits of growth in the undergrowth.
You meet the wind as you would like to feel
Carried away by it but not the way you would like to be
You learn from the simple not to stick to the complex
Till you finally learn to stand on your own roots!
