At the break of dawn
you're gone
into an inaccessible region
where from, you won't ever return
we're together
since the day you celebrated my birth
life got an aid of cheers and fun
and swayed like a drunkard with a stein of rum
in thy presence, my tears vanished into the heaven
but they well up now, once again
and like August rain they heavily rain on
before I knew you've grown wanton
only this morning you proudly escaped
into an inaccessible, far off land
and brought me in a cart load of pain
leaving me alone in this vast, deserted plain
quite puffed up then
when I walked with you in tandem
i enjoyed my time and felt so blessed
in thy company even the heaven I accessed
only yesterday, you coughed and feeble grew
and fell asleep into my arms when I embraced you
when I count the memories I only sink into the pool of tears
and fears grip me when I look at the hellish eyes of the coming years
the days we spent together were all hued with the rainbow
but, for me, now happiness has become a distant window
now, I mourn at every break of the dawn
ah! My tears are seen, but you're not;
and you're gone
into an inaccessible region
where from, you won't ever return.
(Written in memory of my Grandfather)
