Where Can Pain Be? Poem by RIC BASTASA

if you only believe
that pains come and go
and that they are real
and that they too
never stay that long and
if you accept these
truths, you may like or
love me for what i am,
i am real, i could be pain,
and you are real too.
you could be pleasure or
pain to me,
we must accept these realities,
embrace these truths,
we must go with the flow
the way light moves, the way
rivers surge, the way mountains
rise, the way rains fall and stop,
all these,
and in hugging these,
where can pain be?
