where did i see?
such beauty!
where did i see?
such green fields of paddy,
but only a fleeting moment ago
upon this land of glory.
where did i see
men and women labor away
bringing forth harvest
that feeds the hungry millions.
where did i see?
sun sinking deep
beneath the wide sky.
while boats laden with fishes
ply upon the coastline.
where did i see?
a son
cradled on to her mother's hips
as she wraps her Saree
to keep the child warm
under the foggy winter's sky.
where did i see?
people filled with colors
of a thousand cacophony of voices.
where did i see?
oh where did i see?
a land so pious
a land so piety
a call for prayers
through the mosques
so heavenly.
where did i see?
religions melt
and mingle
so brightly.
But upon the land
we call so dearly
Our Bangladesh.
