i did not expect
much from love
anymore
perhaps i have
understood more
now than what it
was 20 years ago.
i tell my friend
i am happy, (perhaps
much happier having
taken myself beyond
the walls of
expectations beyond
the confinements of
promises) ...
i learned to set all
the birds free
from their cages in
the house, and what
these birds left
was a kind of emptiness
which exuded
the happy silence of
freedom...
and this is where
happiness sits,
by the window facing
the road
watching all those kinds
of strangers
passing by, and there is
no more bother
who they are
what names they have
what work they do
and where they are going....
