Where Love Broke, Love Grew Poem by Colton Dickerson

Where Love Broke, Love Grew

Love at first sight?
Hardly so
Not until a second glace
Let you warmth unfold

Loved stirred awake
Soft and effortless
Yet fracturced
Leaving tender emptiness

Pain and hollow quiet
An echoing void
Shame sharp as winter
Bitterness employed

Then a whisper from above
'Stand firm, Hold on
Do not surrender
Do not abandon love'

Purpose appeared
Wrapped in gentle pink
Reminding me
Forgive their flaws
And reflect before you think

Could it be
Love dissolves our fear?
Time will tell
As the truth draws near
