Where Passion Hides Away Poem by Timmy Tubbs

Where Passion Hides Away

I am calm
I breathe gentle
My shaking fingertips ration your body
Beautiful it is
For time will hasten this moment
And it will not return for several sunrises
A feather tickles the bottom of my heart
And goosebumps gather
The darkness causes my mind to dream
And images dance inside my eyelids
Of you
Of you my dear

I wish on the farthest stars
The ones beyond ours
That you conquer your fear of daylight
That you let your body prove my imagination right
And my honesty stands firm
Nothing is more beautiful

And a sliver of jealousy constricts my veins
Knowing others were granted permission
Permission to witness the lines of your body
Move in the sun’s rays of the day
When no one has loved you more
I’m left humbled with my hands in my pockets under a small rain
Pondering other ways
Maybe one day I could be treated the same

Stipulations are nailed in my mind when we go to bed
No touch, no light, no ways are to be rendered
Is it because you were hurt?
Then let us just lay here and talk instead
Your beauty is only matched by your song

Passion is old and withered
He hides away
Our habitat dictates this
I want to give him a warm home
Where feelings thrive on bliss
I just hope I didn’t grow boring for you my dear
Somewhere in this wonderful year
This is the one thing I’m trying not to give up on
Conquering your fear
But my will has expired and guilt consumes me
And these are the words hidden behind every sorry
Your other half doesn’t know what he did wrong
So he bunched all his feelings into this song
