Where's The Brotherhood Poem by Candace Johnson

Where's The Brotherhood

'Fight, fight, fight! ' They all chant in unison
The hallway has been turned into a boxing ring
Where all weapons are good weapons
And everyone is too afraid or too enthralled to ring the bell to end it all

Just seconds ago it was only brothers jesting with each other
Know it's brothers fighting against each others
Brothers choosing sides
Brothers hating each other

Where's there was friendship and even love
Its nothing but the will to hurt
Even the will to kill
If they can

It saddens me
It sickens me
Where is the love
Where is the brotherhood
