Carpe Diem Poem: While the Blood Is Loud
They tell us, "Wait. Be wise. Be still."
As if the clock were kind or slow;
But youth is fire, not meant for jars,
It burns—and must be let to go.
We kick against the quiet rules
That teach the heart to live half-dreamed;
For time will tame us soon enough—
This hour begs to be redeemed.
Let risk be loud, let hope run wild,
Let questions bruise the old command;
Rebellion now is life in bloom,
Not ashes held in aging hands.
Seize youth before it learns to bow,
Before the pulse grows calm and cold;
For daring early, living true,
Is how brief days are turned to gold.
