Whispers Of Home Poem by JLF Maikaho

Whispers Of Home

There are voices whispering into your ears
Telling you stories about a place
A place you've never been to
But whose energy continues to draw you in

You are homesick
Perpetually uncomfortable in your skin
Like a soul in the wrong body

You carry the insignia of uncertainty
Of being where you don't belong
And belonging where you don't know

Night is the relief you wait for every day
The blanket that warms your soul
The bed that holds your body

While you follow the cues of the whispers
Leading you to places you've never been to
Leading you to places you hope to find home
