Whispers Of The Night Poem by Shruti Shirpurkar

Whispers Of The Night

It was past 1 a.m., the world asleep,
But my thoughts ran wild, so heavy, so deep.
Maybe I'm born to walk this road,
Or perhaps I chose this heavy load.

I still remember those endless nights,
Tears falling fast in the dimmest lights.
Crying out, not for dreams or pride,
But just to breathe, to feel alive.

A smile, elusive, like a fleeting flame,
I longed for peace, yet it never came.
Through the silence, a voice would call,
"Stand again, though the shadows fall."

Perhaps these paths were meant to teach,
That strength is found where pain can reach.
And though I've stumbled, bruised, and scarred,
Each tear I've shed is a battle star.

Now when the nights stretch dark and long,
I find my solace in my own song.
For whether I chose this, or it chose me,
I'll rise again—unshackled, free.
