White Hibiscus Flower Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

White Hibiscus Flower

I embrace you as a riverbank embraces the river.
I embrace you as does a willow wand the wind.
I embrace you as a lover does their one true love.
I embrace you as does a flame the kindling.
I embrace you as a mirror does your reflection.

Yet, I yearn for your affections like a sunflower yearns for the sun.
Yet, I yearn for your affections like a moth to the stars.
Yet, I yearn for your affections like music for a song.
Yet, I yearn for an affirmation as momentary as a kiss.
Yet, I yearn for perfection, fleeting as a white hibiscus flower.
