White Wash Poem by Jenna Dandurand

White Wash

Rating: 4.5

i'm disappearing
in a torrent of white.
i'm being washed
and dried.
after i've tumbled around
and thought i won,
what do i get?
i've been white-washed.
turned into stone.
no emotion.
flat.
that's what i get?
nothing?
i've worked so hard.
i've pushed to the end.
i thought i'd get salvation.
peace.
relaxation.
now i can't move.
breathe.
feel.
stuck.
i'm like glue.
i can fade away over time.
i stop working.
i worked and strived so hard.
and what have a become?
nothing.
i want to be remembered.
will they remember a nothing?

Covered up by white wash...nice overall image here and a nice comparison to these feelings.

'white washed'...good phrase to describe somebody's prejudice, lack of tolerance, baseless assumptions; some people look so 'dirty' in others' eyes... washed to be as white as the long white sleeves covering the 'good hands'? I don't know which concept fits best...
