Who Has Disability? Poem by Emmanuel Odei Oduro

Who Has Disability?

Who is disabled?
A disabled is imperfect
One way or the other
A human who is deficient
In one form or the other
Which human is thus perfect?
For perfection is an idea
Rather than a reality
Who therefore is not disabled?

Who is disabled?
Why apply the word solely to
People with physical flaws?
Human's with emotional faults?
What about the millions of us
With monetary defects?
With all types of privations
Suffering all sorts of deprivations
Are we not disabled?

Take heart you the usual disabled
You are like the usual normals
See yourself that way
God rightly sees you thus
Don't ever your very self, discount
Confidence in yourself, sustain
Chase your dreams, vigorously
Become what you want to be
The sky is also your limit
You can definitely become
What you set your mind to be
Arise, go for your dream and shine
