Who I Am Poem by Koketso Nonyane

Who I Am

Who I am
Is a broken vein bleeding pain
A shoe of miserable memories
worn by these tears
A breath of desire
Burning with essence of fire
A poet pledging peace through poetry
As vocals of erupting negativity
Is all I see in this world

I am a dreamer
Someone you call a believer
God made me wise
Because everyday I rise

I am a singer
Chords of instrumental power
Preach the choice
stuck in my voice

I am somebody
walking through darkness
Directed by the light
In my soul
And if I fall,
Who do I call?
People shove my spirit with praise
while digging my grave
I am brave
A soldier
It's a part of me!

Sometimes you think you're the best
Yet you become weak
When among the rest
Be positive
You will peak.

This generation
Nation
Every characteristic I possess
Is a process
That distinguishes me from society
To fulfil my reality
This is who I am
A Part of me
I'm Proud to be
me
