Overcame hunger, starvation no longer a danger
Off we came to prosper, stagnation is now a stranger
Family has shelter, living conditions are better
Clothing for all weather, blankets for winter

Who I am
Is a broken vein bleeding pain
A shoe of miserable memories
worn by these tears
...

Listening to whistles of blue cranes
blues in sweet sunset african melodies
Takes my mind back to the mindless flow
of rivers flowing slow
...

Lost in transformation

They yelled, with voices that carry diamonds of hope: "freedom"
Tears that once cracked through the wounds sown deep into the veins of the oppressed
...

In me lies a dreamer
In me lies a reflection of a broken soul

The dreamer explores the world in his mind
...

What shall become of us?

The uneducated - The jobless - The lost hope - homeless
Intoxicated with mockery of society
...

With her clothes torn,
And the rapist gone
With blood scattered on the ground
In a place where she's nowhere to be found
...

When I'm alone, at night
Far from people's sight,
I cry.
I cry because my mama goes to bed without food
