Who’ll Smile At Death?

Faces may glow with sheer delight
Smiles embellish the queue
Funerals can be a glorious sight
Leading to life anew

The blind can see the deaf hear
The poor grow rich will give
Lamenting souls are filled with cheer
And dead folk rise and live

Now more and more such things we see
Though masses shake the head
God sent His Son to set all free
And raise us from the dead

From palaces to filthy slums
Where darkness has deceived
How wonderful The Truth becomes
When Jesus is believed

Fire within the bowels of man
Eternal life in streams
Love defeating the darkest plan
With joy beyond all dreams

From flames of hell from dark cold grave
Chains of man’s foolish doubt
Allow The Lamb of God to save
And turn your life about

Nothing to pay nothing to do
Nothing but faith to keep
To love our God love neighbours too
Until we fall asleep

Blessed are the few who Christ obey
Who seek The Father’s ear
Who turn from sin, walk Heaven’s Way
And live in righteous fear……
