Who's Afraid of Life's Death Sting
Afraid who me?
I'm really not afraid of death more afraid of the death of love
and especially the depth of love that's held so sacredly
and how utterly surrendered I am to it's graces
yes, I think that I am more afraid of loved to death
a smothering never feels like love
yet neglect is a prison to those who wait longing for
unrequieted love

I'd rather die than die of love or lack there of
Oh love so all encompassing
love who doesn't see the death coming
always wanting something more a different than it's own
once again a prison inside the walls of committed words that meant a slow dying
to the neglect overgrown weeds and lack of nurture
knowing the answer to a life of mystery but oh the questions we ask or don't
death has lost it's sting we find a deeper value in the living breath of love
wanting my love to cherish me a surrendered will to the same desires
a mirror of truths lay bare to see that death has lost it's sting
and I for him my worthy man love living will matter more than dying
the times I ran for better now because of dodging death's tricky sting
Our love so all encompassing

so if I'd have to choose some day
which one I want to kill me
I'd pick the death over the love
and pray loves arms would keep me
holding you with rarest value
