Who Took The Sparkle Poem by Ruth E. Shelton

Who Took The Sparkle

Rating: 5.0

Who took the sparkle from your eyes
And the smile upon your face
Did I hurt you so very much
That someone else took my place They took away the smile I loved
And the eyes that shined so bright
I wonder just what I could do
To make them shine tonight To put the smile back on your face
And the eyes that used to shine
If I'd hold you in my arms
Once again would you be mine I still loved you when I went away
I didn't know your eyes would dim
Or that beautiful smile would disappear
When I left you there for him I guess I knew that you still loved me
I took the sparkle from your eyes
And the smile you had for me
When I left and said good-bye.
