Why Poem by Chuck Toll

Why

Rating: 5.0

My little daughter looks up at the new moon
And says, Look, Cookie Moon! And she’s right,
Someone has taken a great big bite!

Then she asks me why the sky is blue.
So I explain the molecules comprising air
And how they refract the light waves there.

So, darling, do you understand? I fondly ask.
No, she says, but don’t tell me again, let me rest.
Then adds, I think it’s 'cause I like blue the best.

Once again, the master of humor in verses succeeded in making me smile and chuckle. I have read several poems with this style. But yours outdistance them all in... I'm not sure what - maybe sophistication, class, clear language, whatever. You're no.1.
