Why Can I Not Be As I Am? Poem by Seth Coleman

Why Can I Not Be As I Am?

You say it's the word of God
But how can it be what he said
When others changed it to be
How it is in their own head

You say I don't deserve
A happy, peaceful being
That me being me
Is not fit for seeing

If God loves everyone
And made me his own
Why'd he make me with faults
He'd want to disown?

I just want to know
Why you want me to die,
Why God made me
Just to keep myself a lie?
