Why did you have to go?
Was I really so low
As to make you run away?
I wanted you to stay
But you went elsewhere
Somewhere, anywhere
Everywhere
You left me
I always knew you’d see
That what I pretended to be
Was never what I was
And that because
I was scared
Terrified
Petrified
That what I thought was sacred
You thought was foolish
Childish
Useless
Maybe you did
You saw I was a kid
And ran, ran, ran
Away, away, away
From me
