Why Didn'T I? Poem by Shan Bruland

Why Didn'T I?

I missed you when you passed,
But I did not cry,
I missed you as time passed,
But I did not cry,

I felt your touch when you were scattered,
And finally I could cry,
I missed you until you were scattered,
And then I could cry,

I knew you were gone and that I should be happy,
It took that moment when you were spread upon the wind,
For me to say goodbye and for your sake be happy,
Instead of gradual mourning, I let it all free upon the wind.
