Why does love hurt?
When it should be that light
that shines bright in our lives,
The food to our souls
that keeps us going
Why does it have to hurt?
Is it because of our nature
that we can't embrace it?
Or is it because it comes simply
But yet vex a number?
Are we to blame for the hurt
Or is it that we need to learn
the alphabet of love?
For when its hurts
It destroys our very own souls
A pathway to sadness and misery
That many a man who went that way
Has been lost into the abyss
Yet we hang in there day after day,
Waiting in hope for the next day
That true love and joy will visit us again
