Why Has God Created Those Lips? - Poem by Muhammad Shanazar

He often said,
“Do you know why God created your lips? ”

On my unawareness he replied,
“So that they should confess,
You are mine, you are mine”
And then,
I became habitual in saying,
“I am yours, I am yours.”

Then a day came, he spoke wearily
To my routine expressions,
“It is queer you neither feel fatigued
Nor experience tedium, and then
It is true; the same sentence has been learnt
To be said by the lips of someone else.”

I am pondering that I should ask him,
“Tell me my Love!
Why has God created those lips? ”
