Why I No Longer Kiss You Poem by David Blake

Why I No Longer Kiss You

Walking hand in hand in a crowd
on a busy street I pretend not to
see your eyes stray.

Whips’ of hair failing on your face
you carelessly swipe it away as you
smile and tell me you love me.

Promises then lies an unending
dance of pleasure and pain.

Sitting all alone I see what I have
forgotten, my dreams and
everything I once loved.

I vow to love you no more, starting
tomorrow.
