Why I Wear Costumes Poem by Jeff Fleischer

Why I Wear Costumes

Rating: 4.3

I wear costumes because I don't know
Who I am anymore.
In my life, I don't even know
What's the score.
I'm batman, I'm robin,
I'm superman, I'm aquaman,
Anyone, but the real me.
I have lost my true self, you see.
My values have all but gone down the drain.
I feel like I have gone insane.
I do not have any contentment.
I treat my parents with resentment.
I'm tired of searching for the right one.
The clouds have overshadowed the sun.
I don't know who I am anymore.
Maybe my true self is
Washed up on some shore.
