Why This Partiality? Poem by sundaram chandrakalaadhar

Why This Partiality?

alas, why these girls kill me in their beauty?
they hunt my eyes and stun my feet
and I stand frozen on the mid-street
struck down by their charm and elegance!
a poet jumps within me and sweet words deluge me.
o god, I curse you for your partiality
and creating me with the weakest heart
that swoons when exposed to feminine beauty.
tell me the secret why women are with arresting looks?
you subjugate the might of the manhood
to the slender charm of the girlhood
and laugh heartily unseen at your mischief.
and pat yourself in the joy of your creation.
