Why Work... Poem by Kevin Maroney

Why Work...

One day down
Another coming.
When I'm down in the dark
I'll get up and running.
through the Park,
Down the dam
Up the water, as a
Salmon, struggling against the current,
never give Up, no matter the cost...

He tells me no, stop running.
He tells me no, stop trying.
He tells me no, it is useless,
when you can get more for giving Up.
He is all around me,
they do not want to try.
It's really so much easier,
for me just to give Up and cry...

He tells me no, stop running. He tells me no, stop trying. He tells me no, it is useless, The concept of jam tomorrow and jam yesterday but never jam today. An aphorism used in your subject matter here by people. You have rehearsed those verses and represented the notions underneath very well.Pleasure to read.

Kevin, very profound. I hope the subject of your poem gets back 'in sync'.
